Cost key performance Indicators (KPIs) are part of a balanced set of performance indicators for organizations (which should also include productivity, efficiency, cycle time, quality, and output/impact measures). The measure of Total IT cost, excluding depreciation/ amortization, per business entity employee is one way to evaluate the cost of the IT function. This article explains this measure and presents data from APQC’s Open Standards Benchmarking® in Information Technology Organization Performance assessment.
