Benjamin Knoll, Ph.D.

As Manager of the Survey and Analytics Hub, Benjamin Knoll, Ph.D., leads a shared service team that provides survey design and analysis support for APQC’s more than 75 annual research projects. In this newly created position, Benjamin coaches, mentors, and leads individuals who support this vital aspect of APQC’s mission and work.

Benjamin brings more than 10 years of experience in survey design, statistical modeling and analysis, data management, and data visualization as a researcher and principal investigator working in higher education, government, and private foundations. In those capacities, he has published more than 30 research articles, books, and reviews.

Prior to APQC, Benjamin worked at Centre College of Kentucky as a quantitative researcher, assistant professor, and associate professor of politics. Not only did he instruct undergraduate political science courses, but he also applied quantitative and qualitative research approaches and published original research focusing on voter segmentation, voter preferences, and the intersection of public policy and political behavior. Additionally, he designed, fielded, and analyzed more than 20 public opinion polls with the Boyle County & Cooperative Kentucky Exit Polls.

As research grant principal investigator with the Mellon Foundation, Benjamin allocated, administered, and assessed the use of $600,000 of grant monies from Andrew Mellon Foundation to Centre College of Kentucky. Since 2016, Benjamin has served as president of Kentucky Conservation Committee’s Board of Directors.

Benjamin received his doctorate and master’s degrees in political science from University of Iowa. He earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Utah State University. Most recently, Benjamin received his Diploma of Anglican Studies from Bexley Seabury Episcopal Seminary in Chicago, Illinois.
